Weekly Gatherings
Small Groups
It is important to address the needs of individuals, and small groups help provide a sense of identification and belonging. Small groups for High School students create an encouraging and affirming environment, enabling youth to explore their values, beliefs, and questions while applying Christ's teachings to their lives. These groups stress accountability and spiritual growth.
Sunday School
This ministry provides High School youth an opportunity to gather together, worship and learn. With an emphasis on scripture, teachers and youth explore how to read, understand, and apply God's word, 9:00-10:00 AM each Sunday in Barclay B.
Bible Quizzing
Bible Quizzing is a fun and rewarding program for those interested in learning the Bible and who love competition and road trips. It provides a mix of Bible memorization and content understanding. The next quizzing season will focus on the gospel of John and starts with a planning meeting and lunch after the second service on Sunday, September 12. This year's quiz meets will be in Newberg (October); at Quaker Hill Camp in McCall, Idaho (December); at Eugene Friends (January); and at Hayden Friends in Idaho (March). Call Eric at (503) 538-8381, ext 106, for more information.

Service-Outreach
Mexico Serve Trips
This cross-cultural missions trip provides Newberg-area youth and their families with an opportunity to serve the people of a San Luis church to which we've been ministering for almost two decades. Projects include building and repairing homes, installing bathrooms in homes we've built on past trips, and a semi-annual reunion with the many families and church members we've worked with over the years. North Valley Friends and West Chehalem Friends Church join with us in this ministry. Our next trip is scheduled for Spring Break 2011.
Youth Challenge
Youth Challenged to Expand their Worldview (YCEW)
If you have completed at least one year of High School and are interested in cross-cultural missions, this adventure is for you. YCEW provides youth with the opportunity to spend six weeks traveling to another part of the world to work side-by-side with missionaries and the nationals who live there while developing a deeper relationship with Christ. Applications are due each December.
Youth Challenged through Local Service (YCLS)
This short-term inner city mission for youth takes youth into some of the neediest areas of Portland to serve those who have been marginalized by society.

Samuel School II occurs during Memorial Day weekend, alternating between the Newberg area and the Boise Valley. This year, it was held at Camp Yamhill. Participants are selected by the elders for exhibiting openness to the Spirit, eagerness to learn more about their relationship with God, leadership potential, and commitment to the NFC faith community.
