Lead Pastor

Newberg Friends Church is seeking a dynamic and visionary senior leader to shepherd it into a new season of vibrant ministry. Newberg Friends Church – a Gospel-centered, evangelical church rooted in the Friends tradition with deep ties to George Fox University – is a healthy and growing congregation in need of a senior leader to consolidate the talent and energy of the congregation and direct it into a fruitful season of Kingdom-minded mission and joyful worship of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to find a pastor with exceptional leadership and character strengths who will help cultivate a deep love for God and His Word and equip and empower the congregation to live out God’s love through care and service for others.

Collaborative Environment: Provide vision and big picture oversight for a dedicated pastoral team, church staff and volunteers, including many George Fox University former and current faculty who are passionate about serving and making a difference in the lives of others.

 

Resources: There is an opportunity to develop and implement ideas which maximize the missional use of NFCs large campus, which is one of the central hubs for the Northwest yearly meeting. Significant assets including a library, friends center & gymnasium, several rental properties and large rooms for fellowship and teaching.

 

Strong Ties: Newberg Friends has deep connections with George Fox University and the Northwest Yearly Meeting. Many of the GFU faculty frequently preach and teach at Newberg Friends. The ideal candidate for this role would have a passion and ability to develop closer ties with George Fox University faculty, students, other NWYM churches as well as with the Newberg community.
